Developer - Data Platform

What you will actually have to do:

You will work with multiple teams to deliver solutions on the Azure Cloud using core cloud data warehouse tools (Azure Databricks, SQL Server and other Big Data related technologies). In addition to building the next generation of application data platforms and/or improving recent implementations.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in development of modern cloud data warehouses, data as a service, business intelligence solutions using Azure Stack (Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks)
• Design and build modern data pipelines and data streams
• Ability to provide solutions that are forward-thinking in data and analytics
• Coding complex U-SQL, Spark (Scala or Python). T-SQL
• Support the planning and implementation of data platform services including sizing, configuration, and needs assessment
• Deliver a quality product
• Implement effective metrics and monitoring processes

Requirements:

• You have a professional background IT data integration, ETL, Data Warehousing, Data Factory
• You provide feedback to your colleagues to support personal development
• You are a multi-skilled professional
• You are a sparring partner for the Product Owner and contribute to the roadmap- and sprint planning by defining and estimating user stories.
• You report on progress and impediments on a daily basis to the team and support further development of the DevOps way of working and contribute in optimizing the IT-processes;

Strong plus:

• Experience and knowledge of accounting standards such as IFRS 17 and/or Solvency II
• Knowledge of metadata management, data modelling and data modelling tools
• Experience in working with complex systems applications chain (building models to support the entire application chain)
• Good understanding of the latest Data technologies (ADLS, Databricks, ADF, SPARK)
• Exposure working in a Microsoft Azure Data Platform environment
• Experience in Agile (Scrum) and DevOps way of working
• Experience as Data Engineer in Azure Big Data Environment
• Expertise in ETL tools i.e. (SSIS, Data Stage)
• Expertise in Implementing Data Warehousing Solutions
• Experience with working in Agile (KANBAN, Scrumban) environment as part of a scrum team
• Programming experience in Scala or Python, T-SQL
• Hands-on experience in Azure stack (Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory - Optional
• Good understanding of Azure Databricks platform and ability to build data analytics solutions to support the required performance & scale
• Good understanding and experience working on Deltalake using Apache Delta in Azure Databricks
• Experienced working on performance tuning and optimizing long running jobs
• Good Understanding of Modern Data Warehouse and Data Warehousing concepts
• Proficient in a source code control system (e.g. CodeCloud)
• Knowledge of C# is an advantage
• You have experience within business process management and functional maintenance, preferable within an insurance company
